With a few flowers

I took a few photos of flowers in my garden. I was trying macro-photography and here is the result.

Here is a photo of hydrangea's buds. The whiteness as well as the delicateness of the buds make this shot very interesting.

Deep in the woods...

These two photos have been taken in a park near my hometown. It was a very sunny day and the light was quite interesting. It gives the shots a yellow tint. The second photo is a framed shot and the way the ivy climbs on the ruins of an old church clearly attracts the eye.

Photo club

Here are a few photos I took during photo club. We worked on lighting and composition.

The pink city

I went to visit my sister in Toulouse where she lives and here are a few photos I took. It will show you why Toulouse is called the pink city.

The secret is the colour of the stone.

An autumn in Toulouse

When I went to Toulouse, it was autumn and I took a few photos to remind me of the jist of the season.

Here is a whimsical photo of two garden gnomes. I thought they were kind of cute.

B & W in Toulouse

Here are two black and white photos of Toulouse. The first one is a shot of a nice building with interesting architecture. The second one is a photo of a stream that courses through the sidewalk creating a nice curve which is reflected in the picture.

An Alien Switzerland

In Gruyeres, there is H.R. Giger's museum. H.R. Giger is a Swiss surrealist painter and sculptor, best known for his contribution on the Alien films.

Here are two photos of two of his sculpture exposed in front of the museum dedicated to his art.

Snowy landscapes

I went to Switzerland in February and I took the opportunity to capture a few snowy landscapes. I particularly like this one of a lonely tree in a snowy field. I find this photo quite poetic.

A sea of clouds

I went to visit the top of Mont Moléson with cable cars. Once I overcame the feeling of vertigo and of imminent death by falling hundreds of feet, I was able to realise the beauty laid out before me.

Here is a photo of Mont Moléson. The weather was perfect for this kind of picture.

Swiss stones

This article is dedicated to stone architecture in Switzerland.

Here are two photos of stone castles. I particularly like the first one, the setting sun behind the turret and the colour of the frozen stone.

Key quays...

When I went to Switzerland, we visited several lakes. These photos are my favorites from this trip. I'll let you judge for yourself whether you find them interesting as well.

This quay offers a nice barrier between the water and the sky which share the same tint. It also enables us to skim through the photo from left to right. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.

Some Swiss landscapes

In Switzerland the landscapes are amazing, the lakes, the mountains... there are many things to see and obviously many things to photograph.

Here are a few examples of my favorites landscapes I took when I went over there.

This photo is a photo of Lake Geneva and its houses and forests. I chose to take it in black and white for obvious reasons and added grain to make the shot more dramatic. It's one of my favorites.

Boules players on the seaside

As I said before, taking photos of people is a difficult task. With this shot, I succeeded to surreptitiously photograph these boules players in the middle of a throw. It creates a dynamic shot.

Sunsets over the Channel

I went to Barneville-Cartert a little port town in La Manche in France. As you may have seen on this blog, I particularly like taking photos of the seaside. I find that it creates both dynamic and poetic shots whichever the weather.

I chose to show you these several photos of sunsets as they offer different sets of colour.

On this first shot, the sky has a nice pink tint that's being reflected on the withdrawing tide. The sea is a nice purplish colour which perfectly associates with the colour of the sky. I find this photo quite harmonious.

Beach huts at Barneville

Here are two black and white shots of beach huts on the Barneville-Cartert waterfront.

On the first shot, the huts follow nicely the shape of the hill which reinforce the curve created by the format of the photo.

Trip to Barneville-Carteret, La Manche, France

I traveled with my family to Barneville and found that the geographical situation could not have been more favorable to take photos of the sea or the cliffs.

During my short stay I took more than a thousand shots of this particularly  beautiful place. Obviously I had to sort out my photos and decide the ones to publish here for you to see.

Here are some of my favorites from this place:
